Welcome to Gold Country Events. Gold Country Events is an event discovery and information service focused on events, activities, businesses, organizations, venues, and communities throughout California’s Gold Country.
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Gold Country Events website, event listings, submission tools, accounts, newsletters, promotional services, and related features and services. By accessing or using Gold Country Events, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the website.
Gold Country Events helps people discover events throughout California’s Gold Country. Event information may come from event organizers, venues, businesses, community members, tourism organizations, chambers of commerce, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, public calendars, publicly accessible event pages and websites, and other publicly available sources. Some information may be collected, processed, categorized, summarized, formatted, or updated using automated systems.
Gold Country Events may also offer event submission tools, organizer accounts, featured listings, advertising, sponsorships, newsletters, memberships, promotional services, and other related features. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Gold Country Events does not organize, operate, produce, supervise, manage, control, or host events merely because they appear on the website.
Anyone may submit an eligible event for consideration. Submission does not guarantee publication. Gold Country Events reserves the right to review, verify, edit, format, categorize, summarize, reject, postpone, suspend, consolidate, or remove listings at our discretion. We may make reasonable editorial changes for clarity, formatting, grammar, categorization, searchability, consistency, location information, duplicate prevention, website usability, and removal of unnecessary promotional language. Publication of an event does not create a contractual relationship between Gold Country Events and the organizer unless a separate written agreement expressly provides otherwise.
By submitting an event, image, description, logo, link, business information, or other content to Gold Country Events, you represent that:
You remain responsible for content you submit.
When you voluntarily submit content for publication on Gold Country Events, you grant Gold Country Events a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, resize, crop, display, distribute, and use that content as reasonably necessary to display the event or listing, promote the event or Gold Country Events, include the event in newsletters, display event previews, create social media or promotional materials related to the listing, and operate and improve Gold Country Events. This license applies only to content you have submitted or authorized for use. You retain ownership of your original content.
Gold Country Events may display factual information about publicly promoted events obtained from publicly available sources. This may include event names, dates, times, locations, venue names, admission information, public organizer information, ticket links, official event links, categories, and other factual event details. Gold Country Events may organize, categorize, format, summarize, or supplement this information for event discovery purposes. Where reasonably practical, Gold Country Events may provide attribution or a link to the original event source. The presence of publicly available information on Gold Country Events does not imply ownership of third-party content or affiliation with the original source.
Gold Country Events may use automated tools or systems to identify, collect, process, categorize, summarize, or update publicly available event information. Automated systems can occasionally misinterpret, omit, duplicate, or incorrectly categorize information. Gold Country Events does not represent that automatically collected information has been manually reviewed or independently verified unless the website specifically states that it has been verified. Where technically practical, automatically collected listings should identify their source and the date on which the information was last checked.
Gold Country Events makes reasonable efforts to provide useful event information. However, we do not guarantee that event listings or other information on the website are accurate, complete, current, available, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose. Events can change after information is submitted, collected, reviewed, or published, including changes to dates, times, locations, prices, fees, ticket availability, performers, vendors, schedules, age requirements, accessibility, parking, weather-related changes, capacity, postponements, cancellations, and other event details. Visitors are responsible for confirming important information directly with the event organizer, venue, ticketing provider, or official event website before attending, traveling, purchasing tickets, making reservations, or otherwise relying on an event listing.
Gold Country Events is a discovery and information service. Unless expressly stated otherwise, we are not responsible for the organization, management, operation, safety, accessibility, legality, quality, availability, conduct, cancellation, or outcome of third-party events. Attendance at an event is a transaction or interaction between the visitor and the applicable organizer, venue, ticketing provider, business, or other third party. Gold Country Events is not responsible for injuries, property damage, lost property, transportation expenses, travel costs, ticket costs, canceled plans, missed events, disputes with organizers, or other losses arising from attendance at or reliance upon information concerning a third-party event, except to the extent responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded. Users should exercise their own judgment when deciding whether to attend an event.
The appearance of an event, organizer, venue, business, organization, advertiser, sponsor, product, service, or external website on Gold Country Events does not by itself constitute endorsement, recommendation, certification, partnership, sponsorship, affiliation, or guarantee. This applies whether a listing appears organically, through community submission, through automated collection, or as paid placement. Paid placements receive additional visibility but do not represent an editorial endorsement unless expressly identified as such.
Gold Country Events may link to organizer websites, venue websites, ticketing services, tourism websites, social media platforms, maps, restaurants, businesses, sponsors, advertisers, and other third-party services. Gold Country Events does not control these third parties. We are not responsible for their content, availability, security, pricing, ticket inventory, refund policies, transactions, products, services, privacy practices, terms, or representations. Visitors should review third-party information and policies before making purchases or providing personal or payment information.
If you organize, own, manage, or represent an event, venue, organization, or business displayed on Gold Country Events and believe information is incorrect, outdated, duplicated, misleading, unauthorized, or otherwise requires review, contact hello@goldcountryevents.com. Please provide enough information for us to identify the listing and understand the requested change. Gold Country Events may investigate and, where appropriate, correct information, update information, add attribution, consolidate duplicate listings, temporarily hide a listing, remove a listing, or request additional verification. We reserve the right to determine how listings are displayed, categorized, corrected, or removed, subject to applicable law.
Gold Country Events respects intellectual property rights. If you believe content displayed on Gold Country Events infringes copyright or another intellectual property right, contact hello@goldcountryevents.com. Please identify the content at issue, the Gold Country Events page where it appears, the original work or material you believe is being infringed, your relationship to the rights holder, your contact information, and any other information reasonably necessary to evaluate the request. Gold Country Events may remove or restrict access to disputed material while reviewing a request. Submitting a false or misleading infringement claim may have legal consequences.
Gold Country Events may offer paid promotional opportunities including featured listings, promoted events, homepage placements, sponsored listings, advertising, newsletter placements, social media promotion, sponsorships, memberships, and other promotional services. Paid placements provide additional visibility or promotional services. They do not guarantee attendance, ticket sales, revenue, impressions, clicks, website traffic, social media reach, engagement, leads, customers, business results, or event success. Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, performance estimates or historical results are informational only and are not guarantees of future performance.
Gold Country Events may identify paid placements using labels such as Featured, Promoted, Sponsored, Advertisement, or Partner. The specific label may depend on the type of placement. Payment for increased visibility does not allow an advertiser or organizer to control unrelated editorial decisions or require Gold Country Events to endorse the event, organization, product, or service.
Advertisers are responsible for ensuring their advertisements, offers, claims, images, landing pages, products, and services comply with applicable laws and do not infringe the rights of others. Gold Country Events may reject, remove, pause, or request changes to advertising that we reasonably believe is misleading, unlawful, fraudulent, inappropriate, harmful, technically problematic, or inconsistent with the purpose or standards of the website. Acceptance of advertising does not constitute endorsement.
Paid services may be processed through third-party payment processors. By purchasing a paid service, you agree to provide accurate billing information, pay the displayed or agreed amount, authorize the applicable payment processor to process the transaction, and comply with any applicable payment-provider terms. Gold Country Events does not intend to directly store complete payment card information. Applicable taxes may be added where required.
Unless a specific offer or written agreement states otherwise, the following refund principles apply.
Examples include Featured listings, homepage placements, sponsored placements, or similar promotions purchased for a specific period. Before the placement begins, cancellation may be eligible for a refund according to the terms presented at purchase. Once the placement has begun, amounts attributable to time or services already delivered are non-refundable. Any refund of an unused future portion will depend on the specific offer, agreement, and circumstances.
Examples may include social media promotion, creative preparation, newsletter placement, advertising setup, or similar services. Once work has begun, fees associated with work already performed or committed are non-refundable.
Unless otherwise stated at purchase, cancellation prevents future renewal but does not ordinarily generate a refund for the current billing period. Access or benefits may continue through the end of the paid billing period.
Amounts already paid or committed to third-party advertising platforms, publishers, vendors, payment processors, or other outside services are not refundable by Gold Country Events unless we actually recover those funds.
The cancellation of an event does not automatically require Gold Country Events to refund promotional services that have already been performed or advertising that has already run. Where a future promotional service has not yet been provided, Gold Country Events may offer a reschedule, account credit, or refund depending on the circumstances and applicable purchase terms. Nothing in this section limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived.
If Gold Country Events introduces user accounts, users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of their account credentials. Users are responsible for activity occurring through their accounts unless caused by circumstances for which they are not legally responsible. You agree to notify Gold Country Events if you reasonably believe your account has been compromised. Gold Country Events may suspend or terminate accounts reasonably believed to be involved in fraud, spam, abuse, unauthorized access, repeated false submissions, illegal activity, attempts to interfere with website operation, or serious or repeated violations of these Terms.
You may not use Gold Country Events to submit knowingly false or fraudulent events; impersonate another person or organization; misrepresent your affiliation with an event; upload malicious software or code; attempt unauthorized access to accounts or systems; circumvent website security; harvest personal information unlawfully; spam users or organizers; use the website for unlawful activity; intentionally interfere with website operation; or submit content that unlawfully infringes another person’s rights. Gold Country Events may restrict access or remove content associated with prohibited activity.
The Gold Country Events name, branding, website design, original editorial content, software, organization, graphics, logos, and other materials created by or for Gold Country Events may be protected by copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of Gold Country Events intellectual property to users. Third-party event names, logos, photographs, trademarks, and other materials remain the property of their respective owners.
Gold Country Events may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical problems, hosting failures, internet outages, security incidents, updates, third-party service failures, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the website. Features may be added, modified, suspended, or discontinued over time.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Gold Country Events and its services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Gold Country Events makes no warranties or representations that the website, event listings, third-party information, or services will always be accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or suitable for a particular purpose. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Gold Country Events and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to use of the website, reliance on event information, attendance at third-party events, third-party transactions, or inability to access the service. This may include, where permitted by law, losses involving travel expenses, missed events, lost opportunities, lost profits, lost data, ticket purchases, property damage, or similar consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, if you submit content, purchase advertising, or use Gold Country Events on behalf of an organization, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Gold Country Events and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, and agents from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable expenses arising from content you submitted, your violation of these Terms, your violation of another person’s rights, your event, advertisement, product, service, or promotion, or materially false or misleading information you knowingly provided. This provision does not require indemnification for conduct for which Gold Country Events is legally responsible.
Use of Gold Country Events is also subject to our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains how personal information may be collected, used, processed, and shared.
Gold Country Events may update these Terms as the website, services, business model, or applicable laws evolve. When the Terms are updated, the “Last updated” date will be changed. Material changes may receive additional notice where appropriate. Continued use of the website after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the extent permitted by law. An invalid or unenforceable provision should be interpreted or limited as necessary to make it enforceable while preserving its intended purpose as closely as legally permitted.
Failure by Gold Country Events to enforce a provision of these Terms does not waive our right to enforce that provision or another provision later.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms presented for a specific paid product or service, constitute the agreement governing use of Gold Country Events unless a separate written agreement applies.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Any dispute concerning these Terms or Gold Country Events will be subject to applicable state and federal law.
